Quick Idea: Public Domain Art into Homemade Stickers
A super rewarding mini-craft you can do without too much time or expense
A friend on TikTok recently inspired me to try making stickers at home with my ancient inkjet printer. My expectations were low (this printer is 13 years old!) but after hearing about the whole ink subscription debacle, I’m determined to keep it running as long as possible.
I ordered matte and glossy sticker paper and got to work. For images, I turned to public.work, a fantastic resource for public domain pictures. I might have spent way too long browsing because it’s addictive. You can search for just about anything: unicorns, flowers, butterflies, tarot symbols, rainbows, mythology, and more. It pulls from places like The MET and the New York Public Library, so it feels like a virtual museum visit.
