A Fairytale for Crafters: Join Me at Snow Farm This Fall
A Creative Retreat Where Inspiration Blooms and Paper Comes to Life
Once upon a time, in a land of rolling hills and golden autumnal light, there was a magical place called Snow Farm: The New England Craft Program. Hidden away in the Massachusetts countryside, this enchanted retreat is where grown-ups escape the mundane world to revel in the joy of making things with their own hands. This October, I’ll be venturing to this creative haven to teach the crafting of Paper Botanicals, and I would love for you to join me!
Here, in cozy, light-filled studios, artists and crafters gather like enchanted woodland creatures, except with better tools and stronger coffee. Whether you're painting, sculpting, stitching, or, in our case, transforming paper into lifelike plants, the days are spent in joyful immersion, with hands delightfully ink-stained, paint-speckled, or dusted with the mysterious shimmer of inspiration.
Outside the studios, the campus offers a summer-camp-like experience, with rolling fields, crisp autumn air, and misty mornings that make everything feel like a storybook setting. Each day begins with a feast in the communal dining hall, a welcoming space where artists come together over nourishing meals before diving back into their creative work. Evenings bring laughter, camaraderie, and perhaps a warm mug of tea by the fire as tales of artistic triumphs (and the occasional glue-related mishap) are shared.
Snow Farm runs hundreds of workshops from April through October, covering mixed media, painting, ceramics, mosaics, glass, jewelry, metalworking, fiber arts, paper arts, woodworking, and more. Classes last two days to a week and are held in intimate groups of eight to twelve people, making them a truly immersive and personal experience. The accommodations are simple yet comfortable, with dorm-style lodging and shared baths, allowing you to fully sink into the creative rhythm of the retreat.
In my workshop, Paper Botanicals: Crafting Lifelike Plants for Your Home, I’ll teach you how to create three unique paper plant varieties that work beautifully together as a stylish display. Whether you're a seasoned artist or a beginner, this class is designed to be approachable, relaxing, and deeply rewarding. (Dates are October 3 - 5, 2025.)
If you long for a creative escape where the only spells cast are those of artistry and the only dragons are the ones we craft ourselves, come join me at Snow Farm. If my class isn’t quite what you're looking for, take a peek at all the other workshops. I've already spotted at least a dozen I’d love to take myself!
